Hold Big Oil Accountable for Decades of Deception

New research shows that the oil industry understood the science of climate change and actively sought to shape public skepticism towards it DECADES earlier than previously suspected.

If oil companies misrepresented or concealed material facts about their products from consumers, investors, and the public in the name of profit, they committed fraud. If the oil industry had notice of the risks of its products to the global environment and to this and future generations around the world, they had a duty to warn consumers—and the public—of those risks.

I join the call for investigation into what could be the largest, longest-lasting, and most dangerous case of corporate deceit in human history. The oil industry must be held accountable for misleading the public, consumers, and investors and for blocking action on climate change.
